Dear Sharon, I am so sorry I lost track of your sweet and very comment -- my sincerely apoologies -- I get so overwhelmed with three blogs and so many e-mails.

Wow, 30 years in beautiful Berkeley, and pretty much raising your kids, too. That alone might make any place memorable, but there's something so special about Berkeley, especially the integration of the urban and natural, which you mention. Also, the people here, as a whole, are so darn nice and alive and real, with often the best of a genuine social consciousness.

I'm so glad this blog gave you a walk down memory lane -- I wish I had more time to post more often, and I do have so many neat ideas and hundreds of photos I hope to share. My determination it to make more time to post more often, and also, complete the transfer over to the new Blogger site.

All my best to you and yours. It makes me so happy when my blog touches someones heart.

With warm regards,
Steve Goodheart

Gambolin' Man -- working my way back in time here! I'm so glad you got to see my comments. I really meant them, with all my heart ,and was truly blown away and moved by your love of the area and your depth of knowledge. As I said in my previous reply, I plan on adding your blog to my resources page.

As for RSS, the new updated Blogger *dynamic( templates are *awesome.*) I especially like the "magazine view." I think it'd be perfect for a blog such as yours.

All the best,
Steve

Hey Gambolin' Man,

Thanks for your kind and encouraging comments. No, that was indeed a fox. If I had shown all my pictures I took, maybe that would have been more evident. At one point, though I didn't catch it on camera, I yelled and made a racket to see if I could see more of the animal -- it stood briefly -- and it was totally canine, considerably bigger than a bobcat, and it had those big fox ears that a bobcat doesn't have, as you well know. Anyway, I'm pretty sure of my identification as a life-long animal student.

Anyway, I hope to start posting more regularly to my Berkeley blog, and again, you wonderful blog is a huge inspiration, and so much more wide-ranging and thorough than mine. I've shared your link with quite a few people, and want to add you blog to my resources pages, too. I just need to find (make!) *time* for all of this.

With best wishes and warm regards,
Steve

I'm glad I found your new blog! Keep posting, keep hiking those wonderful hills in our backyard! PS: your fox looks more to me like a bobcat than a fox, but what do I know?

Steven,

I just wandered back to your page since I posted back in May, and I am so awed and thrilled by your comments! Thank you, thank you! For every billion that ignore me, just one who doesn't makes my day! I wish I could figure out how to place an RSS feed on my site but it is glitchy (old blogger template), so maybe I'll switch to a new template. I hope you have seen my latest posts!

Gambolin' Man! My apologies! I lost track of your comment -- didn’t even approve of it! I’m so sorry. I just went to your wonderful blog, and was just blown away by it and your posts! I can tell I am going to spend hours and hours at Gambolin’ Man. (I looked to see if you had an RSS link, but if you have one, I missed it.) I didn’t see a way to “subscribe” to your posts, either, again, unless I missed that too. Let me know if there’s a way to keep track of the site, and posts, but if not, I’ll still be a visitor, I can assure you.

As I read, and looked at your beautiful pictures, I felt like I was hearing from a kindred spirit, even a long-lost brother, and one with far more experience and depth in this beautiful area than I have. Thanks for this great sharing to the world and for you deep love of nature and this amazing ecosystem we live in. I’m in the middle of revamping this blog, and one of things I will do is be sure to add Gambolin’ Man to my links/reference page.

All the best, and apologies, again, for taking so long to respond,

Steve
